Nursery School Admissions

Our school nursery is an academic setting for children who are 3 and 4 years old and operates during term time only.

Our nursery has 3 different types of places.

Morning only 8.50am – 11.50am
Afternoon only 12.20pm – 3.20pm
Full Time 8.50am – 3.20pm

We have the capacity for a maximum of 26 children to be in school at any one time. This is because our ratios are based on having one qualified teacher and one Early Years Practitioner working with the class. When registering your interest for a nursery place you will need to let us know whether you would like a full time or part time place and if you are entitled a 30-hour code.

Applying for a place for your child

Your child can start nursery as soon as they turn 3. All new starters must have a home visit. A home visit can be booked in the term before your child's third birthday but their start date will be at some point in the term after they have turned 3.

The home visits enable us to meet your child in a setting where they feel comfortable, learn a bit about them and then prepare for their start. We can only carry home visits out on the dates below, this is because we close the nursery so that our teacher and Early Years Practitioner can come and meet you and your child. If you are unable to make the home visit date you will need to wait for the next available date the following term.

Following the home visit you will need to submit an application pack. Once your application pack has been received by the office your child will be given a start date.

We have 3 intakes, one each term.

Autumn term home visits - Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th, Friday 5th September 2025
Spring term home visits - Tuesday 6th January 2026
Summer term home visits - Monday 13th April 2026

We only start one child at a time, to give each child time to get to know the setting and adults. This means it can take several weeks for all new starters to be in nursery following their home visits, but we aim to get as many new children started as close to the start of term as possible.

Accepting a Place at Our Nursery School

On accepting a place, you will be given a Nursery Admissions pack to complete. Once the pack is returned you will receive a letter with a start date.

Please note children who have a full time place will have a staggered start*.

Day 1 8.50am – 11.50am
Day 2 8.50am – 12:30pm (staying for lunch)
Day 3 8.50am – 3.20pm (full time)

Part time places start with the full 3 hours.

*These hours are guidance only and at the discretion of the school, may be altered in order to support your child with settling in.

Each child will be given a 6-week review once they have started to discuss with parents how their child has settled.
