The St Alfege Community is really important to us and now that social distancing rules have been relaxed it’s really important that we’re able to come together and support each other in as many different ways as possible! Over the coming weeks we will be establishing a number of exciting initiatives that we’d love you to be a part of. Take a look below to see what we have planned!
Monthly Coffee Mornings
Following the success of our Macmillan Cancer Charity coffee morning we’ll be hosting monthly coffee mornings on the last Tuesday of every month from 9am – 10am. Our first event will be on Tuesday 30th November. Come along and have a coffee and a chat with other parents; it’s a great way to get to know one another.
Pledge Your Support
Whether it’s time, money, or resources, your support is always appreciated and the Let’s Localise website makes it really easy for you to contribute. St Alfege School will be running a number of fundraising initiatives that you’ll be able to support. All you need to do is sign up on the Let’s Localise website, search for St Alfege School, choose an initiative and make a pledge. www.letslocalise.co.uk Our first online event will be a bingo night! This will take place at 6:30pm on Friday 22nd October. At Christmas, we’ll be hosting an online raffle with some fantastic prizes donated by the local businesses in Greenwich. We want to get as many followers as possible so please feel free to share this information with your friends and family…the more followers we have the merrier.
We’re Setting up a Food Bank!
After half term we’ll be setting up a food bank to support families in our local community who may need a bit of a helping hand at different times in the month. We will be accepting donations on specific days of the week and we’ll be distributing food on certain days. We would really appreciate some volunteers to help us run the foodbank so if you have an hour or so to spare each week to help receive and distribute the food we’d love to hear from you. Please speak to Mrs Wilson or Mrs Simpson, or email email@example.com to register your interest.
Sell Your Creations at our Christmas Craft Fair
On Thursday 16th December we’ll be holding our Christmas Fair and we’re giving parents, carers, and staff, the opportunity to sell your creations! We would love to have a range of items on sale: jewellery, cakes, festive cards, homemade decorations and gifts, etc so that there’s something for everyone. For the amazing price of just £10 per table you’ll be able to hire a table and sell your items. Any money you make will be yours to keep, but additional donations to our school are always welcome! We will have 10 tables to hire and they can be booked via Parent Pay on a first come first served basis. As the money will be going to a great cause, (our school) we will not be able to issue any refunds if you are unable to attend the event. There will also be hot chocolate, mulled wine and other sweet delights on sale; we’re hoping to have a fish and chips van onsite too
