Foundation stage (nursery and reception class) provision includes a refurbished outside learning area so that all six areas of learning can be covered both inside and outside.
In recent years the playground has been upgraded to included a new ball court, a stage area, a climbing wall and playground markings to enhance the quality of the children’s experience at play times. Plans are also in place to upgrade the playground. The School now provides an attractive setting for children to learn and play.
Since the school was built, it has twice been extended. The most recent extension was in 1998 when a new wing was built and extensive refurbishments were carried out to the rest of the building. The school’s inner courtyard has been transformed to provide a beautiful quiet area with places to sit surrounded by attractive shrubs and other plants.
In 2006 work started on an area of wasteland adjacent to the school. This has now been transformed into a secluded attractive wildlife area with a pond, a log-pile, a trim-trail, raised planting beds where children can reflect quietly and learn about the environment. This is called the ‘Magic Garden’ and its creation was as result of funding and volunteer help from HSBC.
