Home Learning

At St Alfege’s we value working in partnership with parents and carers and we feel that home learning is integral to every child’s development. Reading at home, either with an adult or independently for the older pupils, is an essential element in developing children’s literacy skills. All children have a reaading record which is monitored by a member of staff in their class.  In addition, home learning for the younger children may include talking about their school day, looking for numbers, or reading shop signs and other words in the environment. For older pupils there may be practical as well as written tasks.
